When it comes to rock climbing, the Wasatch has something for everyone. Our private guided trips are tailored to your experience and ability — whether you’re brand new to the sport, a gym climber looking to get outside, or a returning climber wanting to refresh skills.
A half-day outing (4 hours) is the perfect sampler, giving you a chance to try climbing outdoors, learn the basics, and enjoy classic Wasatch stone. If half a day just isn’t enough, join us for a full-day (7-8 hours), which allows more time to explore different styles of climbing, refine technique, and practice core safety and belaying skills — all while getting in plenty of pitches.

I had a really wonderful time doing a half day rock climbing experience. Carl was an expert guide and explained everything really clearly as I was a beginner. I felt very safe and Carl was a great coach with made me get the most out of the experience. I will never forget the great view from the top. I would highly recommend using red river adventures.

These trips are all about the experience of climbing. Our guides handle systems and provide coaching so you can focus on having fun and enjoying movement on the rock. These outings are not training or skill development courses. They are perfect for beginners who want a safe first outing or experienced climbers who just need a guide to share a rope with. If your goal is to build skills to become an independent ice climber, check out our Ice Climbing Classes instead.
Red River Adventures will provide all the technical equipment required to guide our listed climbing options. However, climbers are strongly encouraged to bring their own climbing gear, if they have it, on our guided climbs. Instructors will inspect any personal equipment brought prior to use on our trips. In some instances, there may be a required gear list. This will be distributed prior to the course dates.
