Evan is a climber, photographer, and author of Redwood Burl: A Climber’s Guide to Northwest California. With more than 20 years of experience, he has developed over 400 new routes and serves as President of the Northwest California Climbers’ Coalition. Evan is also an Ocún ambassador, blending his passion for climbing with photography and storytelling while advocating for sustainable access and ethical route development. His proudest personal achievement is the first ascent of The Cleaver, a massive desert off-width roof rated 5.13b, which he also documented in film.
