Garth and Carl met in the fall of 1999 while teaching skiing at Snowbird. He is the Risk Manager and an instructor at Utah Valley University in the Outdoor Recreation Management degree program, where he has taught since 2002. He has been an AIARE instructor and course leader since 2003 and joined Red River in 2019.
