Originally from Kentucky, Mary joined RRA in 2016 after guiding Backpacking for a local guide service. She quickly focused on climbing and, in the last decade, has become a crack and off-width specialist with some of the hardest trad ascents in the country to her name. She made the first female ascent of Necronomicon (5.14a) and the third ascent of Black Mamba (5.14b), two of Canyonlands’ most iconic roof cracks. She has also developed into a gifted instructor and founded Crack Camp to share her love and knowledge of crack climbing with climbers of all abilities.
