Growing up in the flatlands of Minnesota, Sam Crow first strapped into a snowboard at age 11. After moving to Park City, Utah, the draw of escaping lift lines and exploring deeper into the mountains led to a passion for splitboarding and backcountry travel. Since the winter of 2020/21, Sam has been guiding and teaching avalanche courses, sharing both the joy of riding untracked snow and the importance of making smart decisions in avalanche terrain. Most of Sam’s guiding and teaching takes place in the Wasatch and Uinta mountains, where he loves helping others build confidence, skills, and stoke for winter in the backcountry.
