Brian J was a great guide for the beginner, full-day ice climbing tour in UT! Coming in with no prior experience, my party felt safe the whole time. It was a great workout and experience.

Had an awesome time doing some ice climbing, guided by Jake. I was hoping to do as much learning as possible on gear and techniques, and he was fun and full of all the info that I was looking for. Jake and Red River Adventures are both highly recommended.

I wanted to do something besides skiing on my last trip to Park City, and ice climbing has always been on the bucket list (I’ve done rock climbing but never ice). I was not disappointed! I did a full-day guided trip with Carl, the owner of Red River, and it was AMAZING. The experience was fun, challenging, beautiful, and Carl was a great guide – I felt safe the entire day and I learned a ton! I already booked another ice climbing trip in Colorado this season because I enjoyed it so much, but next time I am in Park City I’ll skip a few days on the slopes for another trip with Red River 🙂

Carl has operated this company for over 15 years. Carl himself guided us an ice climbing tour on Jan. 1st, the New year’s day. It was super cold, but Carl brought every equipment we needed, including extra parkas and gloves, which kept us warm all day long. It was our first time doing any type of climbing. Carl made it just perfect, he tried to make learning easier and smoother. It was definitely a great experience to have ice climbing with Red River Adventures. We would like to come back in the future.

Multi-pitch ice climbing is for those ready to experience the bigger routes — long, classic climbs that get you off the ground. These trips are focused on the experience of climbing ice, not technical skills. Your guide will handle the leading, anchors, and rappels, while you enjoy the adventure. Great for anyone with a few pitches of ice under their harness and who wants a big day out, or experienced climbers who simply need a partner to make it happen. If your goal is to practice systems and become self-sufficient, our Ice Clinics are the right fit.
